For the Wee Noggins...

A new customer on etsy asked if I could do headbands for her 2 year old daughter.

I thought this was a great idea, and got to work on scaling down my adult headband into the size for a toddler. A little trim here, a little trim there, smaller elastic, and a few convos later to my customer asking for measurements, I have come up with a toddler/girls headband.

A Little Neighborhood PR

This weekend, our neighborhood had it's yearly Yard Sale event. Since I'm a new business, I decided that maybe I could do a little PR.

I put a large container with headbands and makeup bags on the table where I was taking money. I thought, no one is going to pay full price for anything at a yard sale, so I priced these items at a good discount AND had a little promo piece to add for buying.

I really didn't expect a ton of sales. I thought at best, I could mention my business to people and slip a business card in their bag. After all, even at a discount, people are looking for DEALS at yard sales.

To my surprise, it was an unexpectedly good response to my products. I sold well over half of the items. I gave out tons of cards. My ego got stroked by lots of sweet people complimenting my products and my talent. All in all, it was a very good day.

Not just a Makeup Bag

These are handy for use in diaper bags, for crafts, in your beach bag, and a zillion other things. I love the velcro closure. It adds a lot of stability to the top, and allows the bag to sit open.

Cool fabric, too, but check my etsy store for other choices.

Daisies are the friendliest flower...

Headbands are stylish, keep you cool in the summer heat, and elimintate bad hair days. What more could you want?

I found a small amount of this uber cute Amy Butler fabric in my stash. I'm pretty sure that this is from the Ginger Bliss collection, and is no longer being manufactured. Because I'm all about my customers, I fought the urge to make myself a skirt and instead, have used it for headbands... and a couple of makeup bags, maybe.

OK, I have to get this first post out of the way, so that I can get on with my life! Who knew a simple blog could be so intimidating?

This blog will focus on crafting, my crafting business, my home and family, and other things that pass in front of my eyes. I will try to incorporate some tutorials, to make it worth your while. Oh, and when it comes back on the air, Project Runway will be mentioned. Alot.
